Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in India

An abdominal aortic aneurysm is an enlarged area in the lower part of the major vessel that supplies blood to the aorta. It is caused by “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis)
Depending on several factors, including location and size of the aneurysm, repair options might include, Open abdominal surgery.This involves removing the damaged section of the aorta and replacing it with a synthetic tube (graft), which is sewn into place. Endovascular repair ,this is a newer form of treatment that is less invasive than open surgery. It uses an endovascular stent graft to reinforce the wall of the aorta and to help keep the damaged area from rupturing.
