He was awarded with Dr. Ambedkar Sewashree National Award, Surgery Ratna Award and Shrawak Ratna Award, Guest of the Month award in May 2011 by the Press club of Guwahati and Manyobar Probashi Asomiya (Most Adored Non-Resident Assamsee).
He hails from Assam and is affectionately called an “Ambassador to the people of Assam ” and writers like Puniya Devi, Som.P.Ranchan have written in volumes about him.
Dr. Jain had the experience of working with the World Famous Colorectal Surgeon Dr.Pramod Jhawar as his associate Surgeon at Bombay Hospital, Institute of Medical Sciences, Bombay.
He is associated with a number of Institutes like Association of Daycare Surgeons’ of India as its Joint Secretary.
He is member of World Association of Hepato-pancreato Biliary Surgery, Association of Surgeons of India, Association of Colorectal Surgeons of India, Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Association of Surgeons of Assam as Life Member, Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FOUNDER MEMBER), Hernia Society of India as Life Member, Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS-CM-0372), Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons as Life Member (IAGES-1461).
He is the Honorary Advisor of Central Medical Advisory Board, KAAC, ASSAM.
He did MBBS in1985 and MS General Surgery in 1988 from the University of Guwahati and later pursued MCh in Colorectal Surgery from St. Mark’s Hospital London1989-90. He also did a Fellowship from Royal Society of Health, London.
