Interrupted Aortic Arch Iaa in India

An Interrupted Aortic Arch (IAA) is a rare heart condition that happens when the aorta doesn’t form completely. The aorta is the heart’s main pipeline, carrying oxygen-rich blood to the body, and is shaped like an arch or curve. In an interrupted aortic arch, part of the aorta is missing, leaving a gap.
IAA immediate treatment includes the administration of a prostaglandin infusion. Prostaglandin is a medication that is administered intravenously (IV) and keeps the ductus arteriosus open. This allows blood flow to the lower body until surgery is done to re-establish continuity of the aortic arch.
