Deceased Donor (Cadaveric) Liver Transplant (DDLT)

Brain death signifies a clinical state in which brain function ceases, and the individual relies on life-support measures, such as a ventilator, to sustain bodily functions. From a medical standpoint, brain death is akin to actual death. Following the confirmation of brain death, the organs, including the liver, can continue functioning for a finite period. It is during this critical window that the liver and other vital organs are retrieved for transplantation. DDLT is more prevalent in many Western countries.
